How do I find my tyre size?
The size of the tyre is a series of 7 numbers typically with a ‘/’ and ‘R’ or ‘ZR’ before the last two digits. It is found on the side of your tyre and looks like this:
205/55R17
In this example,
205 is the width
55 is the profile
R17 is the rim size
If the writing is unclear, have a look at the tyre on the other side. If your rear tyre is flat, check the other rear tyre. If your front tyre is flat, check your other front tyre.
Do I need a locking key for my wheel?
If the nuts on your wheel all look identical, you most likely wouldn’t need a locking key. But if one of them looks unique, you may have a lock on your wheel.
The locking key is typically found in the glovebox or in the boot with your tools. Don’t think you need one? Then you don’t have to worry about searching for it and we can simply remove the wheel nuts as normal.
If you do think you need a locking key but can’t seem to find it and need your tyre changed- no worries! We just need a photo of the wheel nuts to see if we can force the lock open and fit on the tyre. We may notice that the lock cannot be broken, in this case we can arrange for a recovery service to transport your vehicle to a local garage or to your home address.
